Workbooks

For artists it is important to keep notes of your successes and failures. Every artwork is an opportunity to learn and increase your skills.

In my case I keep a physical workbook comprising printed reproductions of artworks - not only of final pieces, but often also snapshots during the creation of a piece.

Often also I will add a separate commentary describing my feelings, inspiration, problems, and successes. For me this is a personal record, and a ready reference to assist with any problems I may be having with a current piece.

One of my artist friends commented that my workbook was a piece of art in its own right. Who knows, one day I may publish it as a coffee table book. In the meantime I have decided to share some of the images so the reader can be aware of the fact that true artists never stop learning.
