In this section you will see a variety of works I have completed.
While many artists like to just showcase their latest works, I think it is important to explain the feeling and motivation behind each piece. A number of these works include my initial forays and experiments with different media. I think it relevant to include these as it gives the reader a better appreciation of what is achievable with different media. It also helps illustrate my point that often the image in my mind dictates what media I should use - some media certainly lend themselves to particular styles more than others.
I hope, as a reader, you may learn to appreciate more about art by understanding the styles, techniques, and media better. Too many people prefer only oil paintings, because they have been lead to think that because this was the media of choice of the old masters, then it must be better. This is totally the wrong approach to selecting and appreciating art - art should elicit some emotion or response within the viewer, and this is achieved by the overall effect of the work itself; not by whether it was painted in oils or not. It is also a truth that the great painters of yesteryear did not restrict themselves to oils. They too used other media such as watercolours, pastels, and charcoal.
The works in this section have been divided into different sections, largely based on the type of media which have been used.
This section is continually evolving, so feel free to keep revisiting.
